The Wild Lands

Sacred to the orcs
3 layers:

  • Outer (radius x miles) – strange, altered creatures exist. Magic is unpredictable (including magic items). Metal becomes warped when it heats or cools rapidly depending on the pockets of magic.
  • Middle (radius x miles) – mutated and magical creatures prowl. Magic is stronger, highly unpredictable and dangerous
  • Inner (radius x miles) – desolate with no life. Magic doesn’t work.

The wild lands are centred on the location where the nameless Sorcerer did his ritual and was sent to hell. The energies released turned the immediate area into Void Glass which shattered and was scattered over the Inner area.

Void Glass looks like obsidian but feels icy to the touch. It absorbs any magic, it touches. Extended physical contact with a shard will cause ice burns as any warmth is drawn out and into the material. The wild creatures are drawn to the presence of Void Glass and will attack anyone holding it. The larger the piece the faster and more numerous are the creatures drawn. Only orc heros have managed to escape with anything more than small shards.
